reinvent paris | FRA

This cutting-edge project by A2M won second prize in the 2018 international competition Reinvent Paris. Envisioned for a district in the east of Paris (FR) and comprising more than 340,000 m² (3,659,729 ft²), it is the largest project that A2M has studied so far.

A2M developed an innovative concept: a project that could limit its impact so much as to ultimately manage to regenerate the environment. Besides integrating Passive House and CO₂-neutral standards, it would also have been able to manage the future rise in water levels.

The project would have been located next to the Seine River. As it also integrated the concept of peaceful mobility with autonomous shuttles, it became A2M’s very first climate neutral district.

It would have been a mixed-use project featuring schools, a congress center, residential areas, co-living and co-working spaces, offices, a hotel, retail, urban farming, and public gardens.

If the project had been carried out, it would have offered a total savings of 3,017 T of COeq per year, the equivalent of a forest of 550 Ha (1,480 acres) or the sum of all green spaces, parks and gardens of Paris. With just one development.
