Art and Architecture will meet in Mons.
Mons has established itself as a breeding ground for culture in Wallonia. Dynamic, enthusiastic and determined, this city never ceases to grow in strength and stature. This metamorphosis – which well began over 10 years ago – continues to take shape before our very eyes through its commitment to responsible urbanism.

Our project will offer an architecture seamlessly integrated into the suburban context of the Grands Prés district via a distinct landscape. Located near the train station, it will present unfaltering views of the city center, including the Mons Belfry and the Saint Waltrude Collegiate Church.

Resolutely contemporary, the Grands Prés House will feature a wise choice of environmentally-friendly materials that will render it sustainable in terms of energy consumption. It will be comprised of 3 Passive House buildings that will shelter a total of 111 housing units.

For this occasion, A2M will proudly unveil a new mission: selecting the in-situ artwork(s) that will become the visual centerpiece on the public courtyard shared by these buildings.

Can you imagine why we are so glad to have responded to this exciting urban planning call?
See you soon in Mons!
