| project | phase 0 has begun – the Spa of tomorrow is coming!

In the context of a grand salon inside the Château de Mambaye, Sebastian Moreno-Vacca – our founder & architect principal – was invited by our client, IDM Group, to engage yesterday evening with the citizens of Spa during a presentation about our next project in their city: the very first CO2 neutral holiday village!

Philippe and Xavier Meauxsoone also spoke at this event. Eight years ago, these Spa-born brothers began to dream of a new destiny for Domaine de Mambaye – a family heritage dating back to three generations – and its large, natural surroundings. “We are not real estate agents,” explained Xavier, “it is tourism that motivates us, it is in our DNA.” And so, they founded IDM Group with a vision to create new, sustainable eco-tourism in Spa. “The holiday village will operate all year round,” proudly declared Philippe, “and we really wish for it to develop a synergy with the entire population”.

A2M will lead the architectural mission and CUP will devote its energy to creating a landscape that both respects and enhances the existing biodiversity.

“This project will bring added innovation by its proposal to manage the complete water cycle on site. This had to be done nowhere else but in Spa,” Sebastian mentioned gladly.

While some attendees had expressed at the beginning that they felt hesitant to accept the project, they turned into supportive minds by the end of this citizen’s hall meeting. The audience applauded and left smiling with the sun setting over the lush forest of Château de Mambaye as the backdrop.
